JoJo Siwa is teasing her upcoming album in a big way.
In fact, the Dance Moms alum recently got a new tattoo on her tricep, and the artist teased how it relates to the 21-year-old’s upcoming music.
As Costello Tattoo Studio wrote in a caption alongside photos of JoJo’s new body art June 27, “Her new album cover brought to life in ink.”
The new tattoo is a drawing of a teddy bear with its eyes blacked out and wings extending from its back. In addition to angel wings, the teddy bear wears a utility vest, not dissimilar from the orange one JoJo has been sporting during many public appearances lately. There are also black specks artfully placed around the drawing.
However, JoJo is remaining coy when it comes to the meaning of her new ink. She simply reshared a photo to her Instagram Stories June 27 showing off the ink. In the photo, where she poses with internet personality Savannah Demers, JoJo simply wrote, “Finally got a picture with my best friend.”
JoJo has not given an official release date for her new music, but the “Karma” singer has been teasing a full length debut for several months since the release of her polarizing single in April, including promotion of her newest song “Guilty Pleasure.” And JoJo has gone so far to completely rebrand from her original look—which included lots of bows and sparkles—to a more rockstar vibe.
Despite the commentary on her new persona, the 21-year-old is standing strong in her new era.
“People are afraid of things they don't know,” she detailed to E! News in April following backlash of her single. “Things can be scary for people. New things can be very, very scary.”
And JoJo is thankful for those who have stood by her, noting, “Some of the most respected people in the world have come up to me and been like, 'What you're doing right now is so right. It is what the world needs, and I'm learning from what you are doing right now.’”
Fans will have to wait to learn the true meaning behind JoJo’s new tattoo. In the meantime, keep reading for more stars who have sported unique body art.
